What is It?
A Local Tradition with Deep Roots The Upper Valley Beanpot is modeled after the historic Boston tournament where Harvard, BU, BC, and Northeastern have clashed every year since 1952. What makes the Beanpot special isn’t just the hockey—it’s the tradition of bringing the same LOCAL RIVALS together every winter.
The past two years have been a resounding success. This year, the reigning champions from Hartford will look to defend their title, while Hanover, Lebanon, and Woodstock fight to add their names to the trophy.
Tournament teams are comprised of local student-athletes currently enrolled in grades 6 through 8.
Eligibility: Players must meet requirements aligned with their school district’s hockey affiliations.
Inclusion: Rosters are open to both girls and boys.
Selection: Team selection and roster management are at the discretion of each participating town.
The Upper Valley Beanpot aims to strengthen the BONDS between our local athletes and encourage COMMUNITY PRIDE as they prepare for the transition to High School Hockey.
The middle school years are a pivotal time in a young player’s development. Between club teams and travel schedules, players are faced with many choices; our goal is to ensure that representing their hometown in this tournament is the easiest choice they make all season.
Play for a Cause. Play to Win.
